Ab Del Castro Le Funky Dictateur

The child prodigy from Thiès leaves his homeland at age 7 for France, which will become his new playground.

Abdel Razak Traoré begins his artistic career as a Dancer with the collective THE FULL FORCE. A multi-faceted Hip Hop artist, he plays countless stages across France — from the Bataclan in Paris to the Printemps de Bourges and the Francofolies de La Rochelle.

Ab Del writes the first pages of his homecoming story, forming the legendary 77 Trouble Mc's in Dakar. In 1990, the group wins the first-ever Rap contest at the Théâtre Daniel Sorano, beating out Positive Black Soul.

His first experience as a Rapper-Actor comes in Karol Armitage's musical « Hucksters of the Soul ». After a run of Paris dates, a triumphant European tour follows, including performances at the Berlin and Genoa Opera houses.

As a member of the formidable TOO LEUST, a flagship group of the golden age of French Rap, he writes and performs on the album « Le Présent se conjugue au Futur », released on Chaiya Records, the label of Pierre-Louis Berlatier.

He releases his first single, « Jardin Poétic », and his solo album « Récompense & Châtiment », with Mariano Beuve, on Tine Music & BMG.

He moves to Canada, where he spends three years and sets up his own artist management company. Alongside his brother Ousmane Traoré and Jérôme-Philippe Belinga, both members of Dubmatique, he continues his studies to build on his experience in artist management and project development.

Back in France, he becomes a Ghostwriter for Urban Artists.

As executive producer under his own label, Divine Style Music, he manages and produces Sokrate's e-Pop New Wave album, Trinity 2.1.

He returns to the spotlight under the alias Ab Del Castro The Funky Dictateur with the Funk You project. An exceptional writer, his lyrics are featured in books on the history of French Hip Hop, and his face appears in David Delaplace's « Le Visage du Rap ».

Co-producer of HIKIKOMORI, the feature film written and directed by Sophie Attelann. He is now dedicated to filmmaking and screenwriting for feature films at Yelloweyes Films.
